Fraud remains a global challenge for enterprise and telecom communications. BICS has been a leader in the fight to stop these scams for many years, and that’s why it’s pleased to be hosting the next MEF CONNECTS (Mobile Ecosystem Forum) event on the topic. The international forum will be hosted at BICS’ headquarters in Brussels to promote collaboration and information sharing across telcos, regulators, security specialists, and enterprises in the fight against fraud.
Communications fraud can take many forms such as smishing, phishing, artificially inflated traffic, and AI-powered scams. It hurts end-user victims, erodes trust in telecommunications, and can cost operators and enterprises millions of dollars. It’s a global problem and requires a global effort across the ecosystem.
This is why initiatives such as MEF Connects are so important. Sharing insights, promoting solutions and best practices, and encouraging collective strategies are key steps to mitigating fraud on an international scale.
“Fraud is a challenge that impacts everyone, from individual consumers to large enterprises, and we must come together as an industry to tackle it head-on,” says Katia Gonzalez, Head of Transactional Security at BICS. “At BICS, we’ve always believed that collaboration is the key to making real progress. This event is all about sharing insights, learning from each other, and working together to stay one step ahead of the fraudsters. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to Brussels on September 10.”
Katia will be chairing a panel session alongside Sinch, Telefonica, and Messente, on artificially inflated and generated traffic (AIT) fraud, which is an increasing problem for the telecoms industry.
Other BICS spokespeople will also be participating in talks across the day. Divya Wakankar, VP Strategy and Corporate Development, will make the opening keynote, on Balancing Customer Experience and Fraud Prevention in the Digital Age. Yaunese Aazibou, CTO, will be talking about Emerging Technologies and Solutions, covering blockchain, decentralized identity, and cybersecurity. Surash Patel, VP EMEA at Telesign, part of Proximus International, will also be speaking, discussing The Role of AI & Machine Learning, deep diving into predictive analytics, adaptive authentication, and recognizing fraud patterns.
