The ITW Global Leaders’ Forum (GLF), a leadership body of the international carrier industry, has again recognized BICS as compliant for this year.
The GLF Code of Conduct (developed in partnership with the i3Forum, a non-profit industry body focused on enabling and accelerating transformation across the international communications ecosystem) is designed to prevent fraud in international telecommunications. Since its launch in 2018, over 30 international operators and carriers have signed up. It aims to set a benchmark of behavior to ensure there is consistent action taken across the industry to fight telecoms fraud.
As part of the process, which covers anti-fraud measures and processes, including incident reporting and information sharing, BICS scored 97% (25.3 out of a possible 26).
“As a long-serving chair and board member of the i3 forum, I’m proud to see BICS not only support the GLF Code of Conduct but also remain consistently compliant with it,” says Katia Gonzalez, Director of Security Advocacy and Industry Engagement, BICS. “Fighting against international telecoms fraud takes an industry-wide approach, so having so many carriers bought into initiatives like this is so important to protect and regain trust in international communications.”
