BICS is very pleased to introduce Malcolm Chan, who recently has been appointed Managing Director for the Asia-Pacific region. Malcolm shares some interesting insights about the history, evolution, goals and challenges faced by his team in Singapore.
“Having spent the last 15 years in the mobile, wholesale and enterprise side of the Telecommunications business, I am pleased to have joined BICS as Managing Director, Asia-Pacific.
BICS has built a formidable presence in Asia over the last 15 years around an established voice business and a comprehensive suite of mobile data products. This can be attributed to a dedicated group of individuals, both past and present, whom I am privileged to get to work with. The office in Asia has grown from an initial three employees in 2000, to a team of fifteen today, serving more than 120 carriers, mobile operators and partners.
The plan for 2014 is to consolidate on the strengths BICS has built in the region and leverage these strengths to further develop areas where we have not penetrated yet. There are significant opportunities in North Asia, South East Asia and Oceania. We are especially excited about our office in Beijing, which was opened last year. This will bring us closer to our customers in North Asia and drive the growth in our footprint to become a truly pan-Asian carrier.
BICS embraces new ways of doing business. We have partnered with OTT’s and will continue to reach out to our customers in Asia with our unique proposition to develop the ecosystem. Central to this plan is our team of experienced Account Managers who will be happy to discuss how we can align our customers’ strategy and our plans going forward.
I look forward to partnering with our new and existing customers as the industry moves towards an even more interconnected world of the Internet of Things.”
