This year BICS joined 93,000 other mobile professionals, from 200 different countries in what was the largest-ever Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.
With a record number of operators attending the event, the key theme “Edge of Innovation” brought the focus of conversation away from data speeds and 4G deployments, and on to VoLTE and the monetisation of LTE.
Following on from our own LTE roaming update at the beginning of this year which recognised the 70% year-on-year growth of the service, we found that operators from every part of the globe were keen to discuss how BICS’ IPX platform could help them make the most of their LTE network investment, including through enhanced data roaming, VoLTE and RCS.
VoLTE is central to operators realising the full potential of LTE and is a current talking point for the industry both domestically and internationally. BICS’ IPX VoLTE solution offers a high definition voice over IP solution to cater for mobile network operators’ international VoLTE requirements.
As operators launch these enhanced voice services, customer experience is at the forefront of their priorities, therefore it is important to ensure their VoLTE offers high quality calls with very low latency. This is an area where BICS is able to offer real value.
The IPX platform is key to support the full range of next generation services such as RCS, VoLTE and LTE roaming services, which means operators are able to fully meet the demands and expectations of customers.
With operators in various stages of LTE deployment, Mobile World Congress 2015 provided the ideal platform to discuss the best methods of monetising and optimising the next generation technology. The results of these discussions promise exciting times ahead for vendors and customers alike.
