Enjoying the dedication of its teams in Uruguay and Ecuador, alongside those in the US, BICS’ presence in Latin America has been visibly strengthened in recent years.
Priding itself on strong customer relationships, BICS is able to offer operators in the region its renowned intimacy, trust and comprehensive support from within the same time zone.
After its first presence in Miami over ten years ago, BICS’ reputation and resources have grown steadily, keeping pace with end users’ ever-expanding demand for voice and mobile data services.
At Mobile World Congress this year, the GSMA announced that by 2020 the 4G-LTE networks will cover more than three-quarters of Latin America. 4G coverage will be available to 76% of the LATAM population by the end of 2020, up from 35% at the end of 2014. This surge in 4G usage means operators are having to make themselves LTE-ready to prepare for the growth in users’ demands.
With a comprehensive LTE-ready network footprint in the region, BICS has become recognised as an enabler for LTE deployment, and is now considered as one of the key providers of carrier services in the region. BICS’ reputation has opened doors with many major operators in the market, and is starting to gain entry into regional groups, alongside its longstanding presence among the various independent operators in the Latin America region.
Latin America is an important area of sales focus and customer development for BICS, and significant potential growth still remains. The next big step in enhancing connectivity in the region is to leverage the connectivity among operators in North and South America to develop roaming and traffic flows within the region.
Alongside its objective of enabling Mobile Operators and OTT customers to connect and exchange communication services, is to deliver value-added services to Mobile Operators in Latin America. Primarily, BICS’ main priority in the region is to effectively help operators manage the complex transition from 2G and 3G, to 4G technologies.
This growth of business in LATAM – with the added focus created by the World Cup in Brazil, and the similarly anticipated buzz expected during the 2016 Olympics in Brazil – validated our decision, ten years ago, to invest in local teams and points of presence in the region.
BICS’ goal of becoming a leading provider of voice and mobile data solutions in Latin America relies upon its focus and willingness to constantly investment in its people and capabilities within the region, to better meet customer needs and to continue delivering the highest quality service possible.
