Recently, we’ve announced that, following approval from regulators, TeleSign will join the BICS family. This acquisition combines our global network and reach to mobile operators with TeleSign’s leading cloud communications platform and mobile identity and authentication solutions.
As a result of the deal, we will create the world’s first end-to-end Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) provider. CPaaS allows developers and product owners to easily add real-time communications features into their applications and services without having to build backend infrastructure and interfaces.
Thus, we will become the single destination which is easily accessible to businesses seeking CPaaS solutions, and which offers an unparalleled global network and the most reliable and trusted communications platform available. Our aim is to help organisations grow, engage and secure their end-users anywhere in the world, and we are now able to deliver this, thanks to the new service offerings this acquisition will enable.
BICS is proud to be expanding as a business, developing from a global carrier to an international digital enabler. Not only will we now be able to accelerate our strategy, diversifying in terms of customers, solutions and geographies, but we will also be adding TeleSign’s expertise in mobile identity, account security and cloud communication solutions.
Today, companies of all sizes and sectors are embracing cloud communications to create innovative new services and transform how they communicate with their customers. As enterprises undergo digital transformation, upgrading their technologies and moving to offer the latest services, harnessing the power of the cloud has never been more crucial.
For some time now, BICS has been in the driving seat of our industry’s transformation; bridging the gap between the telecoms space and communications providers worldwide. This acquisition is an important step in the further development of both BICS and TeleSign – which will continue to operate independently as a wholly-owned subsidiary of BICS, under the continued leadership of CEO, Aled Miles.
We are very much looking forward to finalising the acquisition, upon approval from regulators, and working with our new colleagues at TeleSign in the near future.
